Dogtown

So who here is watching Dogtown on the National Geographic Channel? If you’re not, you should be! I was hesitant to watch it at first because anything sad about dogs leaves me depressed for days! What I love about this show is that it’s actually quite heartwarming. For those of you who are not familiar with the show, Dogtown is a real place housed in the Best Friends Animal Society Sanctuary. They take the toughest cases, whether it be behaviorally or medically, and commit to finding them either a forever home or a great life at their facility.

I am constantly amazed by the work they do. These volunteers and employees are constantly “in the trenches” and are true angels in the lives of the dogs that come through their doors. I wish that there were more sanctuaries like this around the country…although even better would be to not need them.
