Anne and Leroy

We’re all exhausted after this week.  We’ve had painters here all week to paint the interior of our house.  After four years of living here, we finally feel like it looks like a home.  Since the painters were here, we took the dogs to our local Dogtopia where they played with their dog friends in doggy day care all day.  I love it there because the dogs are always exhausted for the rest of the night!  Here’s a picture of Stella and Zoey in the back of our car on the way home.  They couldn’t keep their eyes open!

Painting is tough!  We spent a long time looking at colors and swatches and then bringing home paint samples to put on the walls.  Even in doing that, we still had to change our kitchen color after the painters put up the first coat because it wasn’t working. And then…the bedroom
.
The bedroom was a mess!  We have all dark chocolate furniture and chocolate bedding with neutral carpet.  The only pop of color we had was our natural, leaf green accent pillows.  We thought it would be neat to do green on the walls to add some color. Boy were we wrong!  Don sent me a text at work that said, “unsure about the bedroom”.  When I came home, I realized that we had a cross between a lime green and seafoam green bedroom and it was down right scary!
.
So the next day when the painters came back, we discussed our options.  At first we considered a green accent wall and the rest in a neutral color, but once we got a sample on the walls we didn’t like that either.  Finally we just decided to pick another color all together.  Here’s a picture of the green walls with samples of new colors we considered.  The green doesn’t look so bad in the picture, but in real life it was a LOT of green.

So it turned out great, but the three day painting job turned into a five day job, so I am exhausted from waking up early everyday.  Luckily, we had GREAT painters who were patient, hardworking, and downright fun to hang out with.  Thanks to Ivan, Cory and Doug at Fresh Coat Painting of Omaha, NE.!  We love our house!

On Monday, Don and I went to our second birthing class.  I swear these birthing classes are just like in the movies.  We sit on mats, the instructor addresses us as “mommies” and “daddies”, and there’s a lot of “he he he whoing” going on.  This week we watched “THE VIDEO”.  Now I’ve watched a lot of “The Baby Story” on TLC over the years, but I’ve NEVER seen it from THAT angle!  Holy cow that’s some scary stuff.  So now I’m officially petrified of giving birth! I have decided that there will be no mirrors involved!

Well, that was a little bit of my exhausting week.  How was your week?

So great to see you today! Glad it worked out. Your place looks great, love the baby’s room. So excited for you guys! : )

  3. I know what you mean about picking out the right color. I always end up loving the end product, but getting there can be a stressful and tiresome journey. Looks like you and the puppers need a break :)
