So I went to bed at 6pm tonight and it felt great! Problem is that it’s now 1am and I’m wide awake. Figured I’d write a little about what’s been on my mind:
On Tuesday I watched the Bonnie Hunt Show (as I always do when getting ready for work). Fran Drescher was one of the guests and she brought along her adorable pomeranian, Esther. I was really touched when after a commercial, Fran talked about having to lose her 18 year old dog. She said that she never understood why “man’s best friend” has such a short life span compared to humans. She went on to say that she thinks it’s to teach us how to love after love. I thought that was so beautifully said.
I often worry about the day that I lose one of my precious furbabies…I know it’s silly to worry about that stuff, but it’s in my DNA. I constantly say that DOG is GOD spelled backwards for a reason. I really believe that they are the closest thing to unconditional love here on earth. It’s just a bond that is unlike anything else, so it does seem cruel that we only get to enjoy them for a decade or so. I suppose that leaves us room to have even more furbabies in our lives and give them good homes also.
Onto something a little more off-topic… We really want to paint the inside of our house before our baby arrives. That said, it’s pricy! So…we’ve been thinking of starting with trying to paint the baby room ourselves. I’m waiting on my doctor’s approval, but I’m starting to get really excited! Mind you, I don’t have the best track record when it comes to anything home improvement related. My husband is not much better either. So we will keep you posted on our progress. Cross your fingers!
.
And finally-a word about giving birth:
“[Watching a baby being born] is a little like watching a wet St. Bernard coming in through the cat door.”
Jeff Foxworthy
Yikes! On that note, it’s off to bed!

The Jeff Foxworthy quote made me think of another one that’ll make you laugh in the coming months:
“Trying to put a diaper on a toddler is like trying to put a pair of Barbie bike shorts on a cat in whirlpool.”
That’s hilarious! More to look forward to!
