World War II Honoree
This Memorial Day, I ‘m thinking about my Grandpa – Floyd E. Harmon.  He trained dogs for World War II as a part of the K-9 Corps and had a huge love for dogs.  I remember him showing me pictures of him with his dogs, training them to sniff out bombs or enemy soldiers. He talked about his dogs with such love and respect.
.
Grandpa always wanted to get me a dog when I was younger, but my dad was so allergic to our cat already that we didn’t think it was smart to add another pet.  My grandpa would have gotten the biggest kick out of my Zoey, Leroy and Stella.  I hope and pray that he is looking down on me with love and pride, and that he is surrounded by people and dogs he loved, watching a Cubs game!
