Eco Turtle Dog Toy by West Paw at The Modern Pet

Thanks to my friend Mickey Koch, I developed a love for collecting turtles back when I was in high school and college. I’ve stopped accumulating random turtle things to display and they are retired to a box in our basement (I guess my crafty husband negotiated this bit of language in our marriage contract), but for some reason I’m still drawn to turtle things.

Solution? I can get my dogs turtle toys to play with! I just discovered this great eco-friendly turtle toy that is made of recycled soda cans!

However I give it a 90% chance that my dogs would have a hole punctured in this thing within a matter of days.  That should be the new standard for dog toy manufacturers – send a new product to my dogs and if it survives 48 hours you are ready for market.

Let it be known that our home is where plush toys go to die.

Plush toys die a quick death here, too. My dog loves them so much, but they don’t stand a chance with his teeth!

Yeah, that’s why I’m such a fan of Nylabones, small balls and other durable toys.

We got a Nylabone Galileo Bone for Timmy that held up beautifully. It was expensive, but it was worth it.

Yeah that wouldn’t last 5 minutes in my house. My boys love plushies, its just a shame they can’t have them! I will buy them the Fat Cat toys…they seem to hold up for awhile but eventually they are murdered too.
