Talking about a girl after my own heart! Amanda DeMarree is the great photographer behind Nizhoni Pet Photography and she is a photographer with a heart of gold. She does exactly what I’ve encouraged people to do if they have photography skills. She will volunteer her photography services to shelters to get great pictures of adoptable dogs, so that then they may have a better chance of getting a forever home. Seriously, that is so cool. (Plus she likes a good martini, so we could be good friends!)

Amanda is based out of Lubbock, Texas, but occasionally does road trips to various areas. I love how she captures each dog’s personality and beauty. She takes beautiful photos! Photography is a hobby of mine and I actually learned how to take better photos by practicing on the animals at the shelter in Fort Dodge. Before that, I took the worst photographs but I wanted the animals to get noticed on petfinder and just learned from trial and error. Anyway, I love pet photography and especially love that she donates her time to help the animals find homes.
